Rain? Really?

It is December 27th.
If it was March 27th this weather would really excite me.
It started out as snow about 6:00 last night
and turned to rain about 11:00 pm
and has been raining ever since.

As it is,
when this freezes tonight
and stays frozen for the next 3+ months,

it's going to be nasty walking around the entire place.

This was at 4:00.
It's still been raining ever since.

So much for the 9-14" of snow they predicted earlier in the week.

Finishing Touches

We put a few finishing touches on the basement yesterday.

There's still more to do,
 but we are getting closer.

We've Been Busy

We've been busy.
Crazy busy.

In the last week we have painted the entire basement,
cleaned carpets and gotten rid of a ton of stuff.

We changed out all the basement lights too.

Now it's time to make sure everything is ready for Christmas.

And then sit for a bit!

More Frost

We had more frost the other day.

I don't remember ever seeing it like this before.

I said it was pointy.
Jack said it was spikey.

Either way,
it was beautiful.

More Frost On Monday

I absolutely love
waking to the beautiful pictures
God took the time to paint for us.

Who knew white could be so beautiful!

Betty

A few weeks ago 10 week old Betty went MIA for several days.
She was found 4 days later in a neighboring pasture
cold, scared, and skinny.

Since then she has been treated like a princess
and is getting a tad bit spoiled
And loving every second of it!

Hoar Frost

There was a heavy fog

when we came home from Mom and Dad's last night.

This morning we woke to beautifully painted scenery.

It wasn't even fully light out

but I just had to go get some pictures.

Of course the pictures don't do it justice.

The fence around the Chicken Castle intrigued me.

The ladies were not pleased that I took pictures before I fed them.
They were all hot on my tail and complaining up a storm.

It was so stunningly beautiful.

The frost was mostly blown away

when I hung the laundry out.

I am so thankful that God gives us such beauty!

Fencing and Snow

Ben hauled a couple of very reluctant people outside
to help with some fencing yesterday.

The bulls pushed part of the interior fence down.

They needed to get it done before the snow came today.

It was great big beautiful flakes.

The cattle are not necessarily in favor of it tho.

And now at 8:30 the wind has been howling for several hours.

The boys worked on the Ford tractor most of the day.

Paul worked on the snow blower.

Elsie and Hannah worked on school
and then Hannah took a break to take Molly and Jack sledding behind the Viking.

And now we all are hunkered down inside
listening to the wind howl.
