Spoiled

We like to spoil the animals around here.

She's waiting for me to bring her her morning cup of coffee.

Another Warm One

Today wasn't quite as bad as yesterday temperature wise.

But the lack of wind made it feel worse.

Doing round bales in the heat isn't nearly as bad as small squares! 

The second cutting of alfalfa is done.

Baling

We didn't get the rain that "they" said was going to flood us all out.

Not even a drop.

So instead it was a nice, hot day to make square bales.

 

First the hayloft of the little barn needed cleaned out.

 

There wasn't much cut,

but what was cut,

baled up nicely.

 

And got put up quickly.

 

The alfalfa field got cut too.

 

Today another, new, first-planting, field was cut for the first time this year.



Chicken Chasing

We've been selling some of the 2 year old layers.

Molly is our Chief Chicken Chaser.

They don't stand a chance against her!

A Touring Piggy

There are two little piggies that won't stay in their pen with mama.

They went touring today.

One of them went running back to the pen,

but this one stayed to check out the chickens for a bit.

Morton was born to a very protective Havana this afternoon.

A Nice Little Storm

We had a nice little storm go through.

We got a much needed 1.89" out of the storm.

And at the end 

God blessed us with a double rainbow!

I sat some of the eggs down outside of the shop 

while I ran to the barn.
