Baling on the 4th

The raking started bright and early in the morning
since there was no dew.
Then a break for a bit while it finished drying.
There was a little conference to finalize the plans,

and then they were off to the races.

Luke baled,

Ben shagged and loaded,

Paul hauled.

It was ugly hot

with beautiful blue skies.

All of the bales were hauled to Hillary's top triangle.

They got more than they expected.

Again, we could not have asked for more perfect weather.

The bales got wrapped
and all the equipment brought back and put away.
TIme for a late supper and collapse.

I love baling days!

Heading Home

We left for home Thursday morning.
We went through the Badlands.

Paul was searching out our route.
How did the pioneers do this?

We saw several Bighorn Sheep,
both far away

and up close.

There were some beautiful views!

I was there too!

It was a loooong drive home.
A little bit of cold coffee kept us going!

It was great to get back to all the chilluns again!

Wednesday's Drive

This afternoon we went for a drive to Wyoming,
just because.

It's beautiful country.

And I found a barn!

I took pictures with the real camera too,
but I forgot the cord to transfer pictures.

So just be forewarned that if you see all these barns again,
it's just because I haven't seen all the pictures yet!
And I love old barn pictures!

Tuesday in Rapid

We went for a long drive through the Black Hills again on Tuesday.
We had to stop for a selfie with the presidents. 😁

We headed off on some gravel roads.
We may or may not have taken a wrong turn
and ended up someplace
we didn't know we were going.

Of course, I had Paul stop for a cool barn picture.

Right around the corner from the first barn
there was a young guy out working on fencing.
We stopped to chat with him.
While he and Paul were talking I took pictures of the barn,
just because I wanted to.
The house on this farm was from a Sears and Roebuck catalog!

Then it was on to Lead and Deadwood
where we got out to walk around a bit.
Even though there are no crowds in this picture,
there was NO social distancing going on!!

On our way back we stopped
at the Chapel in the Hills
for a look around.

It was pretty impressive,
but of course we couldn't get in.

We ended the night with supper at Pizza Ranch with Dean, Valerie and the girls!
