Just for Fun Again

There's really no special reason for this post

except that I like these photos

and felt like posting them!

I looked out one night during supper
and saw the sun on the gate.

Shonna gave me a mirror to play with.

I was the gate-getter while

Paul was feeding bales,

so I played.

This mirror thing is a lot of fun!

The cattle were somewhat confused

as to just what I was doing out there.

Jack took me out to the woods to check the deer cameras.

This one was taken by Jack at Larry's.

Playing

I have so many ideas to try.

Once in awhile I just must play for a bit.

It's just so much fun!

Wonder Hersh

 She's a strange one.

But, so much fun to watch with her cats.

She has new kittens now.

She even refuses her breakfast
in favor of running to the barn to get her babies.

It's been a bit since she's had a litter to raise.

One happy mama!

Baling Time

How I love this time of year on the farm!

Baling season is my favorite.

The smells,

the colors,

the new growth,

the bountiful provision,

I just love it!

Then I went for a short walk tonight.
Just the simply vibrancy of the blues and greens
that God gives us.
It simply cannot be captured.

Just Some Fun Calf Pictures

Ben and I did a barn check yesterday.
The calves were all napping until he opened the door.

Then they were so excited to greet him!

They can be such curious little creatures!

Kerusso was in the bunk
playing with a chicken when I went out today.

Isn't Nike a good looking guy!

I was gone for several days
so today is finally calf catch up day.
Last Saturday,

Catching Up On the Last Six Calves

 Let's start with Sunday.
We had two little heifer calves.
Winona had Patagonia

and Alyeska had Adidas.

About 1:00 Monday morning
Alta had Tapout.
At 3:15 I called the vet.
At 4:15 she had finished putting Alta back together.
At 4:40 Paul, Ben, Jack, and I went back in the house to start the day.
Alta and Tapout are both doing great!

Later Monday morning
Nunie had X-scape.
Do you need to guess why he is named that?
Within a half hour of being born
he had escaped under the gate
and made it all the way through the steer pen
to the mud on the other side.

Snowbird had Kerusso Tuesday evening.

And finally,
Brighton had Nike Wednesday at chore time.
