Tuesday Happenings

We moved the cows and calves out front
and the yearlings to the back today.
Poor little Sugar Bowl couldn't follow directions very well,
so Ben helped her along.

Hannah's car has had a suspicious noise
so it was partially dismantled
and diagnosed
and put back together for a bit.

Molly and Jack were out with the calves while
Elsie was cleaning one of the waterers
when the flapper thingy malfunctioned.
Paul was summoned from looking at Hannah's car
to look at it.
After he got it fixed and back together
Jack had to cool off.

Hannah made a cake yesterday and Elsie decorated it tonight.
It was yummy!

Molly's Garden and Saturday Happenings

Hannah and Molly got the garden planted.

Hopefully the new location with help a lot with not drowning things!

Paul has been working lots on a new chicken tractor.

We got the frame all welded together
and the wheels on yesterday.

Luke and Ben moved the tires on the 3020

to get ready to cultivate the corn.

Elsie, Hannah, Molly and Jack
worked on dismantling old broken bikes

and other odd jobs.

It made my heart happy
to have all 8 of us working on projects at the shop yesterday!
That almost never happens anymore.

Hannah is 19!

Hannah's birthday was Sunday.
19 years has sure gone fast!

It's been a long time since we have had such a totally relaxing day.
Other than chores,
I don't think we did a thing
except Hannah opened her gifts.

Happy Birthday, Hannah!

Poor Hershey

Hershey keeps taking the baby kittens to the barn
and we keep making her take them back to the shed.
So she just lays in the bales with them until we aren't looking
and then tries to take one again.

After she had to take one of them back to the shed this morning
I walked down to the mailbox.
On my return trip
I saw her hauling one of the bigger kittens across the driveway!
When she got tired and had to lay the kitten down
Lucy just laid there and waited to be picked up again!

Who's weirder?

Saturday Stuff

Must not have been anything too overly exciting that happened on Saturday.
Just lots of piddly keep up stuff.

We did walk out to check on the corn though.
Thankfully it wasn't breaking through yet.
We've had a couple nights below freezing lately.
I think last night was the last one though.

Luke did some work on the bale wrapper too.

New Kittens

Calamity had kittens last night.
I knew it had to be soon
because Hershey and Tess have both been so nervous.
Hershey stole the black kitten right after it was born and took it to the shop.
We busted her and made her take it back.
She wasn't pleased.

So today I let her babysit for a bit while Calamity was out.
Talk about a happy dog!

Whitefish and Beaver Mountain

Oops.
I fell behind on calf reporting.
Olympia had Whitefish on April 30th.

Saturday night
after we should have been in bed
Maple had Beaver Mountain.
We got Elsie up to help make sure he was up and drinking
so we could go to bed
and not worry about him.
It probably wasn't necessary
because he is quite the spaz!

And he's cute.

A New Cabinet

Paul built a cabinet to go over the counter in the shop.

I was amazed at how fast it went.

We hung it last Saturday.

He got it all put together

and it looks great!

Ben is 22!

Ben turned 22 on Wednesday!

Hannah made reunion bars for him
and Jack drilled holes in the top for his candles.

For some reason Ben and Jack played tic tac toe
on the top of one piece!

Then is was on to the gifts and cards.
Happy Birthday, Ben!

Jack was pushing the button to take pictures
while I was holding the phone.
Of course he turned the camera to take a selfie
and then photo bombed it!
