Barley

There stand a couple of old farmers discussing life, crops, and the weather.

Our barley was cut Sunday

baled

and wrapped

on Monday.

Since the skid steer was out there
the last of the winter fence posts were pulled out.

The First Cutting is Done

It's HOT.

Time to bale!

Hannah and Molly built this pile.
They put 113 bales on.

Friday afternoon and Saturday
were the days to finish up
the 1st cutting.

Hannah was waiting for the first bale to arrive.

Elsie got the area cleaned out and ready.

Molly unloaded the wagon.

Just a couple of sibling conferences before heading to Hillary's Triangle.

 Luke did the round bales
and Paul hauled.

It couldn't have been a more beautiful day.
And they had the wind to cool(?) them off.

Hershey had to leave her kittens at home,
but she was happy to make the sacrifice
for the opportunity to ride in the Viking.

The stack went higher with Luke throwing the bales!

There were 132 on that wagon load.

Baling

 It has started!

My favorite time of year!

The first alfalfa cutting is

done and wrapped.

We got all three fields done.

I'll never get enough of this sight!

Hauling over for wrapping.

Not too hot
and not too cool.
Just perfect weather for getting the job done.

Not a bad couple of days' work!
