Porsche and Bugatti

 Friday afternoon
was a beautiful time for Phoenix to have Porsche.

And then this afternoon,
I had to run home from destruction time at Luke's
and discovered Scarlet and her little man, Bugatti.

First One of the Year

Jack and I were doing chores Tuesday night.
I was getting ready to unwrap the bale he had on the skid steer forks
when he opened the door and said,
"We have a calf."

That was rather a surprise!
The theme this year is makes and models of cars.
So, the first calf of the year is Sky Lark,

born to Eagle Point.

See You Later, Gaylon

 Gaylon,
I have never made a blog post with a tractor in it

without thinking of you

and knowing how much you would enjoy it.

I will never do a tractor post again
without thinking of you.

The world is an emptier place without you.

Fire Wood and Pizza Delivery

The church farm next door
has started cutting the trees in the pasture
in preparation for breaking ground.

We went over for an hour this afternoon
to get some good oak for fires
and for the lathe.

Then we went home to have pizza delivered for supper!

It the annual NYAFD fund raiser/change-your-smoke-alarm-batteries day.

We requested the best looking deliverers!

Last Saturday's Doin's

Ben got some manure spread
before the freezing rain and snow came.

Jack worked on perfecting his bowl making.

Luke made progress on Mark's tractor.

Elsie had music practice,
Hannah was shopping with Stacy,
and Molly was at work.

Paul and I made a quick trip up to Mavis's old home.

We were all back home and tucked in nice and warm
before the freezing rain and snow arrived.

But I won't complain about our weather.
Instead, my heart breaks
for the families of the 6 killed in the Iowa tornadoes.

A New Driver

 A new driver arrived yesterday!

On our way home after the written test,
I told him that he already had 50 minutes to put in his log book.
He has to have 50 hours driving before he can get his license.
His reply was,
"Wow!  50 minutes and we haven't even crashed yet!"
