Sunning

It's been a good long while since we've seen the sun.

Hershey and Horatio took advantage of it

and decided to sun themselves on the picnic table.

Bunk Cleaning

It finally snowed last night 

instead of raining more.

It was time to clean the little barn feed bunk.

Elsie, Hannah, Molly and Jack did the scooping.

For some of them it was under duress!

Ben did the skid steer work.

Hershey and Tess joined in the fun.

The cattle will be so pleased!

The Pigs Are Almost Ready

I walked out to the little barn 

to get pictures of the bunk cleaning this afternoon.

These five faces came running to greet me.

Actually, they were probably begging!

They are almost ready to fill people's freezers!

Warmer and Feeling Better

It was a gorgeous 39* and sunny yesterday!

Hannah took Blaze out for a nice long ride.

Ben was finally up off the couch

for the first time in a couple of days.

The stomach bug was no fun!

He took advantage of the warm weather to clean the feedlot.

Trudy, York, and Zelda were not so sure 

I should be in the pasture with them.

Ben and Hannah spread 

a couple of new corn stalk bales for them.

 The young chicks from the October hatching are doing great.

Supper is served and everyone is happy.

No Gas

Yippee!

The boys got more wire for the welder!

Ben welded 

under the close supervision of Jack today.

But not for long.

They ran out of gas!

So Close But No More Wire

The boys got the chute up on the new floor.

Luke held something in place while Ben welded it.

And then Luke welded a little

until they ran out of wire.

Maybe they can get some this afternoon

and finish the project.
