It's Going Back Together

It fascinates me!

It was in 1,372,411 pieces.
And now they are putting the giant puzzle back together.
And it's going to run!

Simply amazing!

Walking Them In

There is very little as calm and peaceful

as walking a lazy, contented bunch of cattle

in from the pasture

in the early evening hours
as the sun is beginning to set.
It's my favorite time of day.

The Lost Pickle

There was a whole lot of meowing deep in the tires
on the wagon.

After we threw several tires off

Jack was able to crawl up and in
and rescue the naughty little beast!

Millet

Wednesday night was the night to plant the millet
where the barley was just baled.

Hershey and Tess had supervisory positions.

Now we hope and pray for the rain we so badly need!

I was wrong. NOW the First Cutting Is Done.

Well, I had thought the first cutting was done.
But I was wrong.
I forgot about the barley.

It was cut, tedded, raked, baled, and wrapped
in the insane heat.
Luke was baling.
Ben was in the skidsteer loading.
Jack brought the 3020 and wagons down.

It was super thick.

Paul was on the WD45.

56 bales off the 10 acres!

Jack is way in front with the two wagons.

They are all in a long white wrapped row
out by the shed.

We have a good start on the winter rations!

Hot Again

Hot!

Just ugly hot!

But at least the heat has dried up the pastures.

So, Paul was able to level out the run way in front of the pastures.

We had an audience.

We couldn't even lean on the gate
or they would lick us and chew on our clothes!

Such friendly critters.

1st Cutting Is a Wrap

"Oh, Luke!
We miss you when you are gone!
Thank you for coming to visit us!"

Saturday was day number 3 that was 90 or above.
What a perfect time to spend the whole day outside
baling hay!
Looks like we have some toasty ones coming up too.
It got up to 100*
but I missed that screenshot.

I couldn't narrow them down anymore.

I just LOVE the baler and flag pictures.

I weeded out all the ones I could

and these were left.

Paul and Ben baled alllll day Saturday.
Luke spent most of the day at a fire.

It feels good to have that behind us,
even tho it is my favorite time of year.

Memorial Day Baling

Warm and sunny!

Time to bale!

The flags looked so beautiful

flying behind the baler!

I took numerous pictures of the sight

Just because I am insanely thankful for it!

Everything got hauled and wrapped

before we stopped for a late supper by the fire with friends.

I think I may make this the new Face Book picture.
