The Heat Is Gone and the Smoke Is Here

 The heat is gone.

It is cool enough to open the windows this evening.

But Canada is on fire

and the smoke is all blowing down here

so we will keep the windows closed.

With the drought, smoke, and branches from the storm

things are looking kind of tough around here!

Interesting Weather

It's been HOT

and HUMID.

Yesterday morning we had something of a surprise storm roll through.

It didn't last long 

but it packed quite a punch.

Molly, Jack and I picked up branches for an hour

and then called it quits 

because it made no sense to be doing non-essential work in that heat.

I think the worst is behind us.

I Don't Like Tippy Things

I don't like projects like this until they are done.

And this one is done

so now I like it.

Tippy things scare me.

Paul, Jack and I moved the bulk feed bin 

from down by the fence to up by the feed bunk.

It went flawlessly.

But I still don't like tippy things!

It's Amy's fault!

That's my story

and I'm sticking to it!

She introduced me to a new watercolor app.

I take the pictures

and then 'watercolor' them in the app.

It's loads of fun!

It makes subtle 

or dramatic changes.

I foresee a ton more possibilities!

I'm going to have to do something with these.

I could sure use up a lot of time playing with changes.

It will be time well spent!

And it really IS Amy's fault!

I didn't even know about the app until they came to visit!
