Lululemon and Realtree

Lululemon came on Monday!
Zelda is her mom.

Scarlet had Realtree on Wednesday.

Vans

 Why do things during the day if you can wait until bedtime to start?

MaryAnn didn't seem to understand or care.

She waited until bedtime to have Ben do all the work of delivering her calf.

Hershey and Tess did all the clean up.

Molly had to milk MaryAnn and feed him.

And so Vans made his grand appearance Sunday night.

Redwing

 Life is so much less challenging when it's this easy.

While we were at church Phoenix had Redwing.

He's a good looking guy.

That's 5 bulls
and two heifers so far.

More Fun

 I had more ideas

so I had to play some more.

Why is the base of the (real) top bulb in focus

and the filament of the reflected bulb is in focus?

It intrigued me.

Then I moved on to other subjects.

So much to experiment with!

I love the floating effect.

Columbia and Carhartt

 Brooks had Columbia Wednesday evening while we had supper.

The easy ones are so wonderful!

Tonight's was more interesting.

Ben needed to leave for Unhinged at 4:50.

But first he had to pull a breech calf.

Pull a calf, quick shower, go deliver pizza...

that's how it goes.

Olympia is a very loud, rough mom.

Tess was asking permission from Havana to go see the new guy.

Hershey was just trying to sneak a peek.

After such a rough start

the little guy needed some help with his first meal.

Paul and Molly got him fed.

Last year's calves supervised, 

gave advice, 

and helped all they could.

Stay tuned for his name!

And two days later...

His name is Carhartt!

Zara

Laramie gave us Zara on Sunday afternoon.

She was rather jittery 

and didn't want her picture taken Sunday or Monday 

when I tried.

 But then she decided she was really into it!

She wouldn't move away from me.

She was super curious

and adorable!

Ariat

Medicine Bow had Ariat early Saturday morning.

Poor little guy hasn't gotten much attention since he's such an easy one.

Gucci keeps running away from his mom and going out to the cows

and Armani had a very exciting  start.

I much prefer Ariat's quiet demeanor.

Armani

 Thursday night we had crazy ugly weather.

I did the barn check at 11:45

and discovered that Havana had her calf 

out in the snow and ice and wind.

Hershey and Tess jumped in to assist 

after almost everyone went in at 2:00 

to get some sleep 

before getting up to go to work.

I went in at 3:30 after I was sure he was going to make it.

He got a bottle again in the morning

before taking another nap.

Then he got up to explore the shop some.

Soon he moved back out to the shed 

to be with his mom!

Welcome Armani!

Oh, What Fun!

Oh what fun!

I did some reading

 and watched a video

and then shut myself in a dark room.

I want to play with this a lot more.

Would you just look at those colors God gave us to enjoy!

Gucci

Hannah did the first barn check of the year at 11:30 Wednesday night.

I went out at 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Sunflower was perfectly content and chewing her cud both times.

But when Ben went out at 5:00 a.m.

Gucci had made his appearance!
