Crazy Busy Before the Rain

 Thursday Paul cut the millet
while I went to Brookings, SD for seed.
The boys made the decision to bale
and try to get the cover crop planted yet that night
before the rain came.

Instead the baler broke down after 17 bales.
And it didn't rain.
So they got busy spreading manure where the baling got done.

Friday morning, Paul went to Lano's for parts.
The boys only worked a half day
and then the crazy began.

By 9:30 Friday night
they had fixed the baler,
raked,
baled,
hauled bales,
wrapped the bales,
spread all of the manure,
re-bedded the cattle pens,
disked twice,
planted the cover crop,
and dragged the field.

The incredible lightning show
and an inch of rain
started between 3:00-4:00 a.m.!

The dogs slept well after all that exercise!
